What is the point in having period instruments, musicians with expertise in Historically Informed Performance, only to place a 19th-century anachronism right in the middle, between the music and the audience?

Russia's Golden Mask prize (for Opera: 'Anima e Corpo') & Australia's Helpmann Award (for Chamber Music: duo recital with Jordi Savall).
Celtic Viol at Womad, Wigmore Hall, Glasgow & Dublin.
A new Thurau harp & filming with the Vienna Boys' Choir.
1st staged production in modern times of Landi's opera "La Morte d'Orfeo"
